Karlie Kloss: The skinny debate continues ...

So this image of Karlie Kloss from her Vogue Italia editorial is making it's rounds on the net, and from the comments i've seen something has urked me. Why do people feel it's acceptable to curse/bully/offend models because there skinny? This isn't the first time incidents like this have happened, where i've seen comments such as 'ugh she needs to eat sandwich' 'or she looks like death she needs to eat' e.t.c.  Although anorexia and bulimia are clearly issues which are within this industry, some of these models are naturally skinny such as Karlie Kloss and the abuse that is hurled at them for being proud of who they are and their body types are shocking. You wouldn't go up to a fat person and start hurling abuse so why does society thinks it's acceptable to do this to people who are skinny? I think in this day and age we should be promoting acceptance, whether your fat or stick thin skinny- be proud of who you are and the body you have (unless it's an unhealthy obsession which you need help for). Thus the constant criticism of models being 'too skinny' although some are naturally that way, shouldn't constantly have to defend themselves or feel ashamed/bullied by society for not living up to the standards we set today (being 'curvy')

BTW I am nowhere near biased in this debate as I am faarrrr from skinny lol. Just something which i've noticed has become a norm in society to treat skinny models (or skinny people in general) as somewhat disgusting. Not everyone can be or wants to have a body like Beyonce or Kim Kardashian!

  1. I saw that too and thought that she was skinny! Maybe it only looks like that because of the weird pose.
But you can clearly see that she has abs and does exercise which is great!
